Ted Fickes
Strategy Associate
Ted has spent his career helping organizations and campaigns build networks, engage supporters and secure resources to win campaigns online and on the ground. As an associate strategist at Communicopia he helps clients with online research, advocacy strategies, and engagement plans.
Ted has led development departments, digital teams, and businesses focused on increasing the value of citizen participation. These projects focus on giving individuals and organizations more impact and power. Ted has served as a consultant to dozens of nonprofits, PACs, political candidates and ballot initiative campaigns. He has built websites, developed email campaigns and helped clients integrate new media and technology into their strategic planning and programs.
Ted has worked with Greenpeace , the Blue Shield Foundation of California, the Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition, and others. Ted has also led online communications programs at The Wilderness Society where he helped redesign online properties, create social media programs, build staff capacity and increase online supporters and fundraising.
Ted has run and served as development director at state and regional nonprofit organizations, serves on the planning committee for the Nonprofit Technology Conference and was a founder of Colorado Conservation Voters. He holds degrees from Northwestern University and the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas. Ted currently lives in Denver, Colorado, where he is surrounded by kids and dogs.
