Julia Watson

Julia's ability to multi-task and focus on the minute details while keeping an eye on the bigger picture makes her an ideal Director of Operations and Conference Manager at Communicopia. She has worked in the web world for five years and has learned to translate acronyms remarkably well. She is one of the producers of Web of Change - a conference that connects the foremost thinkers and do-ers in social media, technology, and social change.

As the former Program Director at Hollyhock, Canada's leading educational retreat centre, she scheduled approximately 100 programs and conferences each year. Though Julia obtained a Bachelors in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University in 1994, it is her permaculture design certificate from Linnaea Farm that has most influenced her approach to life and work.

When not at Communicopia Julia is either teaching meditation or at the Lightwork Ecovillage on Gambier Island helping to create a sustainable future.
